Ashley Koff is an internationally-renowned registered dietitian who believes better nutrition is simple, but isn’t always explained that way. To help everyone achieve Better Nutrition, Simplified, Koff created “The Qualitarian Nutrition Plan” and “The AKA (Ashley Koff Approved) Personal Shopper” to help people decide on better quality groceries, dietary supplements, and prepared food. This database of over fifty thousand evaluated products includes selections based on rigorous standards of nutrition, sourcing methods, and marketing integrity, backed by extensive research and Koff’s globe-spanning travels to get the whole food story. The tagline “AKA can’t be bought, it’s earned” highlights the non-profit, non-financially influenced nature of this project.
A self-described “Qualitarian,” Koff emphasizes the value of quality nutrition choices in achieving optimal health and is widely sought after for her knowledge and ability to translate nutrition science into practical and motivating messages. Koff regularly appears on The Dr. Oz Show as well as on shows such as The Doctors, The Today Show, Good Morning America and Fox & Friends and twice monthly on Fox DC where she answers viewers questions for her “Ask Ashley Koff RD”segment. She is also frequently featured in and writes articles for national publications, including Dr Oz The Good Life, The New York Times, O!:The Oprah Magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray, Redbook, and Women’s Health. She is currently a contributing editor for Prevention and on the Advisory Boards of Fitness and Prevention magazines. Online Koff hosts AskAshley@Prevention.com posting weekly answers, provides monthly videos for The Daily Meal and writes for several blogs including The Huffington Post. She created and was the lead expert for Huffington Post Living’s “Total Energy Makeover with Ashley Koff RD” which aired monthly on “Good Morning America Health,” and was the featured dietitian for Deepak Chopra’s YouTube show, “30 Days of Intent”. In addition, Koff’s been the featured on-air dietitian for several reality shows including the CW’s “Shedding for the Wedding” and Lifetime’s “Love Handles.”
Off camera, she has been a nutrition consultant for over 10 years, seeing patients referred by some of the country’s leading doctors such as Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Woodson Merrell, and Dr. Soram Khalsa. She’s also the Nutrition Global Ambassador for Westin Hotels where she defines and explains the #EatWell pillar of their Westin WellBeing council. Recently recognized by Sharecare.com as one of the Top 10 Social Health Makers in Nutrition, Koff’s also been recognized by the natural foods industry leader New Hope 360 as one of the leading “50 Natural Influencers” in health and nutrition to follow on Twitter and named among the Top 10 Registered Dietitians in the US by Today’s Dietitian Magazine and won the Best of LA’s “Nutritionist/Dietitians” by CitySearch, three years running.

Koff regularly works with brands as a national spokesperson and consultant to help them develop better quality offerings as well as to provide insights on trends and their consumer, and to garner the brands media attention. Based on the need expressed by many of her entertainment industry clients, Koff created The AKA Craft Services makeover project for popular shows like ABC’s “Private Practice,” CBS’ “CSI: New York,” HBO’s “Big Love”, FOX’s “Bones,” and FX’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” as well several major movies. Today the AKA Makeover program extends to conferences and events nationally where she connects AKA brands to millions of consumers, healthcare practitioners, and the media.
Koff authored two books “Mom Energy: A Simple Plan to Live Fully Charged” (Hay House; 2011) and “Recipes for IBS” (Fair Winds Press; 2007) as well as contributed chapters to several medical textbooks and advised on additional consumer books. She maintains a private practice, where she see’s patients and has collaborated on projects with celebrities such as Molly Sims, Emily Deschanel, Amy Breneman, Andy Richter, KaDee Strickland, and Elizabeth Hasselbeck. She also serves on the faculty of the Continuum Center for Health and Healing at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. Koff was educated at both Duke and New York Universities and trained at LA+USC and Columbus Children’s hospitals. She completed coursework for Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) and continues her education with online integrative medicine modules and conferences.
